COGG welcomes the launch of Mol Mata, an interactive resource developed in collaboration with CCEA with support from the Professional Development Service for Teachers. Mol Mata is a unique resource that facilitates problem solving and investigative skills and, while doing so, supports children in Gaeltacht and Irish-medium schools develop higher order thinking skill and their mathematical language.
COGG looks forward to working again with CCEA in the development of further teaching and learning resources for the Irish-medium sector.
Margaret Farragher, interim Chief Executive of CCEA commented:
CCEA is delighted to be part of this cross-border initiative with COGG. Mol Mata provides an approach where pupils can deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts and build on essential problem-solving and investigative skills that are key to both curricula. The imaginative and innovative activities in the resource provide a springboard where rich discussion and language acquisition can take place.
This resource which embraces the knowledge, skills and experience of teachers and educational professionals from both sides of the border also serves to demonstrate CCEA’s ability in creating innovative, bespoke resources.
